Former West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has returned to English football after signing a one-year contract with Watford.

The 36-year-old joined Watford on a free transfer after spending time with Qatari side Al-Sailiya. His move marks another important step in his career after he suffered a serious road accident in December 2024 that left him with a broken thigh bone.

Antonio left West Ham in August 2025 after becoming the club’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer. He then moved to Qatar in March 2026 as he continued his return to competitive football.
Watford currently play in the Championship, and Antonio will be hoping to use his experience to help the club push for a stronger season.
The striker is not expected to be rushed back into action as he continues to build his fitness.
