Ronald Araujo’s shirt number at Liverpool has been confirmed following his move from Barcelona to Anfield.
The Uruguay international will wear the No. 33 shirt for Liverpool during the 2026/27 season. The club confirmed the squad number shortly after completing Araujo’s season-long loan move from Barcelona.
Araujo previously wore the No. 4 shirt at Barcelona, but he will take No. 33 at Liverpool. The number had been vacant at Anfield for more than a decade.
The 27-year-old defender joins Liverpool at an important time for the club, with injuries affecting several defensive options. His ability to play both centre-back and right-back gives manager Andoni Iraola additional versatility as Liverpool prepare for the new Premier League campaign.
Liverpool have brought Araujo in on a season-long loan, with the agreement including an option for the club to make the transfer permanent next summer. Reports put that option at around £47 million.
Araujo arrives at Liverpool after making more than 200 appearances for Barcelona and winning several major domestic honours with the Spanish club. He will now begin a new chapter at Anfield as Liverpool look to strengthen their defence ahead of the 2026/27 season.
